Nichol grew up in the mucky lakes of Michigan where he developed an adventurous attitude, always exploring his backyard. During college, Nichol discovered nature's beauty, watching a shooting star streak through the big dipper on his first backpacking trip. Since then he has been exploring the backcountry sites nestled in the Rockies and Sierra Nevada. He has had the opportunity to lead students on backpacking and whitewater rafting trips in the Rocky Mountains and Great Smoky Mountains. Nichol studied Natural Resource Management at Grand Valley State University in Grand Rapids, MI. After graduating college Nichol taught outdoor education in the Santa Cruz Mountains of California. He is excited to be a part of the Bold Earth team.

What I do when I'm not at BOLD EARTH: During the fall I spend time in search of autumn's colors and alpine peaks, during winter I shred the gnar, and during spring I listen to birdsong and watch wildflowers reach for the sky. Most importantly, I consistently strengthen my ninja moves and practice my magic skills.
