Alicia Cornell

Alicia recently graduated from the International Business Program at Carleton University, and as part of her degree she moved to Spain to spend a year studying at an exchange university in Madrid. Her year living in Europe was life-changing, as she was constantly broadening her horizons, experiencing new cultures, and taking off to travel at every opportunity. Alicia has developed excellent leadership skills throughout her life via coaching soccer teams, volunteering for Red Leaf Canada, through her role as a student mentor at her University, and by teaching English as a second language to Spanish students. Alicia's strong passion for traveling, sports, and adventure, combined with her love of the Spanish culture and energetic personality, make her an ideal leader committed to helping her students have an amazing experience with the Bold Earth program.

What BOLD EARTH means to me?: The Bold Earth program is an incredible opportunity for students to grow and learn about themselves, in addition to experiencing new cultures and having fun while doing it! This program gives students the chance to see so many amazing places around the world, and the group environment offered by Bold Earth ensures each new and exciting experience will be shared with diverse and like-minded people, developing relationships and memories that will undoubtedly last a lifetime.

Favorite Quote: "There is no greater joy than to have an endlessly changing horizon, for each day to have a new and different sun."- Christopher McCandless

What I do when I'm not at BOLD EARTH: I am always on the go! Juggling my studies, sports teams, a part-time job and social activities keeps me constantly active, and I am always looking for a new adventure. Living in the beautiful capital city of Canada, I am able to hike through the Gatineau Hills, bike along the Great Canadian Trail, and run alongside the Rideau Canal. If I am not in my hometown, it is because I have taken off traveling again, further expanding my horizons and trying to see a new and different sun each day.

Education: Carleton University, Bachelor of International Business, Minor in Spanish
