Angela is an avid adventurer born and raised on the shores of Lake Michigan. While studying at Calvin College, Angela spent her free time organizing and leading adventure trips for teenagers, classmates, adults and even a few folks in their 70's. Her passion for investing in the lives of others has brought her into leadership roles such as camp counselor, Resident Assistant for 40 underclassmen, after-school mentor, high ropes instructor, tutor, science teacher and now full-time Director and Trip Leader for Bold Earth Adventures. Angela's world-wide adventures have led her to explore Mexico, bike across the United States, surf Costa Rica, pan for gold in the Amazon, storm castles across Europe, safari through Africa, establish a summer camp in Tanzania, climb the Himalayan Mountains of Northern India, traverse the cliffs of Thailand and visit the golden stupas of Myanmar. Angela is CPR, Lifeguard and Wilderness First Responder Certified. Leading Bold Earth trips through the Pacific Northwest, Alaska and Fiji has further fueled Angela's constant quest for life-long memories, breathtaking views and the chance to share the next adventure with YOU!
What BOLD EARTH means to me?: I am truly amazed by the power of these trips! The relationships created are priceless. These summers change the way students think about the world, challenge them to try new adventures and gives everyone the opportunity to be stronger more confident leaders. At Bold Earth, we laugh until we're sore, swim until we're soggy, play until we're exhausted and share life with each other until we feel like family. Bold Earth campers are incredible and I can't wait to meet my next group!
Favorite Quote: Me: "An MP3 player?! Why would you put an MP3 player on your egg sandwich?"
Little camper doing a little dance: "So that I can have music in my stomach!"
What I do when I'm not at BOLD EARTH: Just check outside... you can find me kayaking, snowboarding, golfing, biking, playing games, laughing, soaking up the sun and having good conversations around the campfire.
Education: Calvin College, B.A. in Elementary Education, Science and Language Arts
