Cis Vandaele

Cis uses his home in Ghent as a launch pad for his globe-trotting lifestyle. Whether enjoying his own countryside by bicycle, walking the Inca trail in Peru, snowboarding the Alps, exploring Morocco by bus or paragliding the south of France, he approaches every adventure with a positive attitude and is grateful for every experience provided to him. Cis began his leadership experience by working as an outdoor guide in South Belgium and lifeguarding at the Belgian beaches while a student. He joined the Bold Earth team in 2004, where he has since led España Adventure, France Classique, Ultimate Alps and Bike Amsterdam-Paris. After a several-year hiatus following his gruaduation from University of Leuven, Cis is thrilled to be returning to Bold Earth this summer to lead Italy Greece!

What BOLD EARTH means to me?: Bold Earth means a lot of things:

It means meeting strangers, connecting during an adventure and sharing friendships and memories that last forever.

It means nature and culture.

It means doing things you never knew you were capable of.

It means challenging yourself on the way to the top, as well as forgetting the pain when you get there.

It means running into roadblocks, as well as finding ways to overcome them.

It means working as a team and taking on personal responsibility.

It means helping when someone is in need and leaning on others when you are in need.

In short: Bold Earth means living.

What I do when I'm not at BOLD EARTH: I work as a project manager during the week, enjoying the challenges that come with my job. While not working, I enjoy sporting, travelling, meeting new people and cherishing existing friendships.
