Henry Vogt

Henry is a native of Saratoga Springs, New York, a beautiful town nestled along the foothills of the Adirondack Mountains. Henry graduated from the University of Colorado, Boulder, and majored in Environmental Studies with a specialization in International Development and renewable energy. In the winter, Henry works as a director for Bold Earth Adventures, talking with parents and campers and planning for another epic summer! Henry has journeyed to Australia on a 45-day NOLS trip, rafted the San Juan river in the Four Corners region, horse-packed and mountain biked in Utah and Colorado, and climbed all over the Western United States. Henry loves working for Bold Earth, and is committed to providing teenagers with a fun, safe, challenging environment where they can experience the best summer ever! Henry is a certified Wilderness First Responder, Adult CPR, and a Lifeguard. This is Henry's fifth year with Bold Earth, and he can't wait to guide our 2012 Ultimate Hawaii trip!

What BOLD EARTH means to me?: BOLD EARTH is about building lasting friendships through amazing outdoor experiences. Every year I learn more about myself, my campers, and how to lead a fun, safe and memorable trip. I want participants to come away from my Bold Earth trip saying, "That was the best experience of my life." To me, BOLD EARTH is an opportunity to provide teenagers with an experience that will open their minds to the beauty of the outdoors while having the best time of their lives!

Favorite Quote: "I still find each day too short for all the thoughts I want to think, all the walks I want to take, all the books I want to read, and all the friends I want to see." - John Burrows

What I do when I'm not at BOLD EARTH: When not working, you can usually find me climbing, skiing, biking, running, playing the banjo, reading, seeing live music, eating great food, cooking, singing, writing, hiking, hamming it up, longboarding, and planning my next adventure!
