Johan Ohrling

Though Johan hails from Stockholm, he studies in Kalmar in the winter while working as an outdoor educator during summer. For the past three years, he has travelled abroad to work as a camp counselor in Connecticut. Johan has always loved being outdoors, and especially near water, and lived in a boat for five years while earning his high school degree. After graduating, he took two gap years to travel through Asia and North America. He is certified in Wilderness First Aid, CPR and lifeguarding, and cannot wait to bring his enthusiasm, experience and love of leadership to Bold Europe this summer!

What BOLD EARTH means to me?: Travelling is an amazing way to get to know yourself and the world around you, and I'm grateful that Bold Earth gives me the opportunity to pass this on to motivated, adventurous teenagers. I cannot wait for summer to begin!

Favorite Quote: "Life is too short not to treat yourself with with a good cup of coffee." -Hans Wessblad.

What I do when I'm not at BOLD EARTH: Though I spend most of my time working or studying, I love to sail, kayak, snowboard and climb. I have also recently started playing soccer, and always take every opportunity I have to get outside and explore.

Education: Linnaeus University: Working toward degree in Tourism Management
