Lauren Cain

Lauren joins Bold Earth from the Grand Canyon State, where she teaches fifth graders at an expeditionary learning school. Her wilderness leadership background comes from her days as a river guide and backcountry guide based out of Prescott, Arizona. She's broadened her resume by teaching english in South America, teaching dance and yoga classes and guiding ropes courses for high school students. Lauren is Wilderness First Responder Certified, SCUBA certified, and a licensed river guide. Lauren loves using the outdoors as a forum for students to gain confidence in themselves and foster a greater appreciation for the natural world, and can't wait to apply her diverse leadership foundation to Bold Earth this summer!

What BOLD EARTH means to me?: Bold Earth is about the tremendous amount of growth that takes place when you stretch yourself to your limits and experience the world in a completely new way. It is a dream come true for me to be the person who facilitates that transformative journey for teenagers with BOLD EARTH.

Favorite Quote: "It is necessary to continually attempt the seemingly impossible." Herman Hesse

What I do when I'm not at BOLD EARTH: I am teaching, learning and laughing each day with my hilarious fifth grade students. Outside of the classroom, you'll find me gardening, hiking, running rivers, dancing, climbing on rocks, playing ultimate Frisbee, practicing yoga, and taking any possible chance to travel the world.
