Skyeler Congdon

I have over 70 weeks experience in the field leading trips. I specialize in wilderness therapy, international service projects, and international adventure travel with adolescents. I hold certifications in Wilderness First Responder, Lifeguard, CPR, Level 1 Avalanche Training, and Level 1 Snowboard Instruction. To date I have led trips in the United States, Mongolia, Costa Rica, and two seasons in Peru. Additionally I spent two months in China teaching English at Shandong University.

What BOLD EARTH means to me?: I have seen first hand the transformative power that an BOLD EARTH trip holds to impact the lives of young people. I cherish the letters I have received from former students who have written to me how much they learned about themselves and the world around them. Plus, these trips manage to be life-changing-personal-discovery-type trips while still being so much fun. I laugh harder on a trip than anywhere else.

What I do when I'm not at BOLD EARTH: I teach snowboarding at Durango Mountain Resort while also finishing school at Fort Lewis College. When I get some time to myself I like to go to Indian Creek with my girlfriend and go climbing.

Education: Fort Lewis College, B.A. in Adventure Education
