Tyler grew up in East Denver and earned his first taste of adventure education while working at a summer camp in the mountain town of Elbert, Colorado. His rewarding experiences as a mountain biking, climbing and sailing instructor led him to pursue an Adventure Education degree at Fort Lewis College in the San Juan Mountains. Through his college program, Tyler has furthered his outdoor education by leading a multitude of climbing, skiing and backpacking trips across Colorado, Utah and Arizona. Outside of school, Tyler has spent time volunteering in Africa, adventuring through Kazakhstan and exploring every corner of the American West. He is excited to apply his vast leadership experience to a summer of learning, challenge and fun with Bold Earth!
What BOLD EARTH means to me?: Bold Earth is about breathing clean mountain air, sharing food with great people and exploring new parts of the world. I believe traveling is the most powerful way for one to learn about themselves as well as others, and am grateful Bold Earth gives both me and my participants the opportunity to enjoy other cultures while gaining new perspectives on the world.

What I do when I'm not at BOLD EARTH: I work at a tree farm in Durango, coach a climbing team at Fort Lewis, climb in the desert as much as possible, ski through the San Juans, eat good food and end each day laughing around the table with my good friends and family.
Education: Fort Lewis College: BS in Adventure Education, minor in Environmental Policy
