He has a huge passion for traveling and learning firsthand about different cultures. Tyson is certified in Wilderness First Responder, Adult CPR, Lifeguarding and Search and Rescue. Tyson has led wildly successful trips for Bold Earth in Colorado, Utah, Arizona, California, Nevada, Washington, Oregon, Thailand and Costa Rica. Tyson’s past campers have consistently praised him for being a hilarious, responsible and inspiring role model. What BOLD EARTH means to me?: My summers with Bold Earth have been some of the best of my life: From my first year as a Bold Earth leader, I knew I was joining a unique, special family. Our trips empower all to take responsibility, and leave all participants with a stronger sense of themselves and the world around them. It is so gratifying to me to watch students grow, build confidence and achieve success on our trips: I wish every teenager had a chance to experience the transformative power of a Bold Earth trip!

What I do when I'm not at BOLD EARTH: I'm currently at Utah Valley University wrapping up my Outdoor Recreation degree, but I like to keep my life balanced with a wide variety of activities so I'm constantly learning. Through-out the year you will find me teaching snowboarding to youth in Park City, Utah, working as a ski-race director in California, or recording my music. I'm also frequently surfing, mountain biking, climbing and backpacking. Overall, I prefer to keep my feet moving, whether somewhere in the United States or outside the country!
