Bold Earth is fortunate to share offices with its sister company, Adventure Treks. While Bold Earth encourages a love of travel and culture in teenagers, Adventure Treks focuses on instilling a lifelong appreciation of nature through outdoor adventure. Both programs are for teenagers ages 13–18 and focus on building independence, resilience, communication and collaboration, and leadership skills, all while creating close-knit, judgment-free communities.
You may be asking, which program is right for my teenager?
Established in 1993, Adventure Treks has earned a reputation as one of the most professional organizations in the outdoor adventure summer camp world, serving more than 18,000 students since its inception. Adventure Treks offers a variety of outdoor adventure activities like backpacking, whitewater rafting, rock climbing, mountain biking, kayaking, canoeing, and more in California, Colorado, Oregon, Wyoming, Montana, Washington, British Columbia, and Alaska.
For teenagers interested in pushing themselves outside their comfort zones in the outdoors, Adventure Treks may be the right fit. It’s not a hardcore wilderness program, and students do not do any solo activities like they do at Outward Bound. Though some activities can be challenging, students from all walks of life can succeed and thrive in the outdoors at Adventure Treks. And, of course, there’s a huge focus on fun!
