We started off the day waking up at 3am. We packed up camp and piled into the van and drove to the top of Mauna Kea to watch the sunrise. The sky was already a brilliant array of colors when we arrived. We took a bunch of pictures and then we sat down to have our final group meeting. This meeting was special because we looked back on the trip and talked about the most special moments we had shared with each other. We also discussed what we had learned and our dreams for our future. The meeting was a great way to top off a life changing trip with amazing people.
After Mauna Kea, the hardest part of the trip began, saying goodbyes. Through the tears, laughter, and hugs, we all realized just how much this trip had changed each of our lives. It was at this point that everyone decided this wouldn’t be goodbye, but rather see you later, because we are all motivated to make that opportunity possible. Thank you to all the parents out there who supported their children in the decision to step out and try something new and adventurous, your kids are awesome! Austin & John, your Bold Earth Leaders
