Bold Earth Presents: The Pacific Northwest!
Independent teenage travel can be frightening and intimidating for both parents and teens. It’s easy to allow our worries to overshadow the wonderful ways outdoor trips can benefit your teens and help young people develop into strong, capable adults. Adapting to different situations and places is a valuable life skill you can gain from travel, as are social skills like making new friends in a novel environment and appreciating other cultures. Diverse experiences make individuals more resilient to change and better able to support their communities as growing young adults. If you’ve found this article, you may already know the many advantages of sending your adolescent on a summer trip for teens. Parents are often on the lookout for programs that help their children build self-esteem, teach them to think for themselves, encourage them to take on leadership roles, and introduce them to diverse groups where they may make friends for life. We are beyond excited to announce the unveiling of a brand new set of summer trips! These 18 day teen adventures will be exploring the majestic Pacific Northwest region of Oregon and Washington. The foundations of these trips are modeled on PNW adventures that Bold Earth used to run in the past, but the itineraries have been re-imagined to encompass even more activities, experiences, and EPIC FUN. If you’re a first time visitor to the Pacific Northwest, these trips are the perfect introduction to the area. You’ll gain familiarity with the iconic Cascade Mountains by exploring Mt. Rainier National Park, build your rafting skills on two different rivers in Washington and Oregon, and learn how to catch waves at one of the most famous beaches on the Pacific Coast.
Tumalo Falls in Oregon for those of you that hail from Oregon or Washington, these trips are an opportunity to dip your toes into the major adventure opportunities of your home states. Whether you’re looking to ignite a new outdoor passion or hone skills you already have, this combination of climbing, hiking, rafting, and surfing will bring you to some of the top recreational sites of the region. Pacific Northwest Adventure is open to teens in grades 8 through 10 and will begin at Mt. Rainier National Park and end at the sandy surf break of Cannon Beach. Pacific Northwest: Coast to Cascades is open to teens in grades 9 through 11 and will follow the same itinerary in reverse order, starting on the ocean and ending in the Cascade Mountains. We are so thrilled to re-design and re-release these trips in their updated versions. We’ve combined our solid base of experience with the freshest adventure opportunities to create our best possible PNW experience. This is a region close to our hearts, both for its incredible outdoor recreation history and stunning natural splendor. We can’t wait to launch these trips this summer!
