THAILAND’S BEST – DAY 7
Hello friends and family! Welcome to our featured trip blog! As you all know, our groups work hard on their blogs to share their fun experiences with us and let us in on a bit of the action! We thought what better way to do this than share featured blogs on our website every few days? You can expect one new featured blog from all different trips every few days depending on what groups have service at the time! This summer is truly amazing, and we hope you will enjoy these sneak peeks as much as we have been enjoying them behind the scenes!
Today was an inspiring day for the Bold Earth crew! We begin our day with a delicious home-cooked breakfast at the Maejo guest house. Shortly after we embarked on our journey to the animal kingdom, a.k.a. The Elephant Nature park. Our guide Pi Tea took us around the park as he introduced us to the rescued elephants. All of them were very excited to see him because he usually comes with treats. The elephants gradually became more comfortable with us and one approached Anna so she could say hello. Another big elephant showed us love by spraying Marco with dirt. After seeing many friendly families of elephants and learning about the rescue stories, we made our way to the main building for a super yummy vegetarian lunch, including fresh fruit, a variety of noodles and veggies, and most importantly ice water!
Once we devoured our meals some of us grabbed a sweet treat at the café. Zoe sampled the traditional Thai tea and loved it. Meanwhile, at the gift shop, a few of us went on an elephant trinket shopping spree. Jolie was elated to find a locally made cat bracelet. After that, Marco found his calling as the bunny man. Soon after we loaded up the vans to return to the guest house and on the way Skylar entertained us with their beautiful singing. Once we got back, Amelia sprawled out on the hammock as Kelly experimented with the fresh aloe growing on the property. Before dinner, we got some time to relax and Liv taught Pi M how to make a friendship bracelet. We enjoyed the chicken teriyaki dinner with a side of fried mushrooms, a Thai staple. We ended the night by presenting a card to express our profound gratitude to our leaders Cody and Maia. Marco led an exciting evening meeting and the question of the day ‘if you could be any animal, what animal would you be?’ had everyone laughing.
