Absolutely. One of your child’s trip leaders will call you one to two days before the adventure starts; this is a great time to update them with any new information and ask any and all questions you may have!
Every trip has a unique packing list that we update every year. You’ll find your child’s packing list on his or her specific trip page.
Every destination is a little different; it is possible that students will need specific immunizations. We operate under the guidelines of the Center for Disease Control, and we highly encourage you to talk to your family doctor about what your student may need. Yes! In late spring, we will upload a day-to-day itinerary of each trip to the students’ dashboards. These itineraries are subject to change, and we will let you know if we need to alter any of our activities.
Our trip leaders will be at the airport to greet every student as they arrive. We make every effort to meet students as they walk off the plane, but due to airline and airport restrictions, that’s not always possible. In the event we are unable to greet your child at the gate, we will contact him or her directly to provide directions on where to meet us, which is typically at baggage claim. Our trip leaders will be easy to find in their Bold Earth T-shirts!
Once your child has collected all luggage after meeting with one of our trip leaders, he or she will call home.
Bold Earth adventures are designed for teenagers in good physical condition. Our students don’t have to be elite athletes, but we highly encourage that they participate in regular physical activity in the months leading up to their trip. Different trips have different challenge levels; please feel free to call or email with any questions.
A few weeks before every trip starts, we email parents a link to that specific trip’s blog page so they can follow along with their child’s adventures. This link may be shared with other family and friends as well. We post photo and text updates to each trip every few days; we cannot post every day, as our trips are not constantly in good cell service.
