Patrick was born in Miami, FL, but traded beaches and mangroves for mountains and rivers after earning a bachelor’s degree in nutritional science at the University of Florida. While in college, he spent his summers working as a climbing instructor and American Mountain Guides Association single pitch (rock climbing) instructor for teenagers, leading multi-day day trips in North Carolina. After living in Arizona and Colorado, he moved to the south, where he worked as a raft guide on the Chattooga River. Patrick currently works as a rope access technician doing maintenance and repairs on wind turbines, dams, and bridges, and he loves to rock climb and travel. In fact, he’s been to Thailand, Patagonia, Mexico, Italy, and France. He recently completed a 25-day rafting and kayaking trip down the Grand Canyon. Patrick is a wilderness first responder and is excited to return to Bold Earth for his second year as a trip leader.
