Anna, a Bold Earth alumni, grew up on Lake Michigan near Chicago, and studied at UCLA, majoring in Physiological Sciences on the pre-med track. She spent several years working in the emergency room of UCLA Medical Center and as a neurosurgery researcher. She was also a math instructor for middle and high school students at Mathnasium, and tutored students for years in writing and violin performance. She spent a summer living abroad in Rome to study classical history and has traveled all over the world. In her free time, Anna loves to ski, run, and play guitar at campfire sing-alongs.

Anna has extensive outdoor leadership experience as President of the UCLA Backpacking Club, the largest outdoor organization on the West Coast. She has planned and lead camping and backpacking trips all over California, from the coast to the desert to the Sierra Nevada mountains.  She enjoys leading trips for both beginner and experienced students, always with an emphasis on appreciating the natural world. Anna is certified in CPR and First Aid, and is a nationally certified EMT.
