Growing up in the mountains of Colorado, Kayla has always been drawn to the outdoors, whether it be skiing powder, hiking peaks, or climbing rocks. She holds a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering from Montana State University, combining her love for sustainability with problem-solving. Kayla’s passion for outdoor education led her to spend several summers as an instructor at Keystone Science School, sharing her enthusiasm for nature and adventure. When not leading trips, you can find Kayla judging big mountain ski competitions, playing with dogs, or getting lost in a good book.

What drew you to the Bold Earth community?

Some of my most enjoyable experiences have been trying new activities outside in a camp setting: scary things feel easier, and difficult activities can be giggled through. Bold Earth drew me in by being able to find yourself and your personality while experiencing new things and being part of a community doing it together.

 

What is your Bold Earth superpower?

My superpower is being a human campfire. I bring the warm, comforting, fun vibes. I love bringing a goofy wholesome energy to bring everyone together and feel the love and warmth of the community. Singing songs, laughing, and creating shared moments are a big part of how I help turn a group of individuals into a team.
