I originally hail from Portland, Oregon, but I have spent the better part of the last decade living in Washington State, Montana, and on the road! I discovered outdoor education as a 16-year-old while volunteering as a field mentor, teaching middle schoolers about the natural world. Quickly realizing I had found my calling, I decided to pursue a career in Outdoor Education and have been working in the field ever since. I’ve held a variety of positions, including as a backpacking guide in South Korea, outdoor preschool teacher, wilderness survival guide, and trail crew leader in Washington, ski instructor in Montana, and camp counselor in California. When I’m not leading groups, some of my favorite travel adventures include trekking across the Himalayas in Nepal, snorkeling in the Great Mayan Reef, and climbing the Canadian Coast Mountains. I am so excited to join the Bold Earth family and to make new memories while exploring the outdoors with rad participants!

What drew you to the Bold Earth community?

I was drawn to the Bold Earth community because I want to share my love for natural spaces with the next generation! There is nothing cooler than experiencing something new and joyful through the eyes of youth.

 

What is your Bold Earth superpower?

I can whip up a delicious meal out of the most unassuming ingredients. If we share a trip together, you’ll learn something new and creative that you can use in the kitchen!

 

What is your adventure must-have?

I won’t leave for a trip without a snazzy dad shirt. Nothing screams festive, fancy, and fun like a good button-down!

 

What song would you add to the van playlist?

In my humble opinion, a pump-up playlist is not complete without Unwritten by Natasha Bedingfield. It’s an instant mood booster and a karaoke must-have!
