After leading backpacking trips for fellow college students in Missouri, I moved out to California in 2024 to be a full-time outdoor educator leading programming for middle- to high school students! I lead educational camping trips with an emphasis on experiential learning and environmental science. These programs have taken me all around California with students–whether climbing in Pinnacles, tidepooling in Montana de Oro, backpacking through Joshua Tree, frolicking through the Redwoods, or anywhere in between. In the winter, I am a ski instructor for Mammoth Mountain where I’ve now taught for two seasons. When I’m not with students, I’m planning my own hiking and backpacking trips around the West Coast, including some sections on the PCT!

What drew you to the Bold Earth community?

I am passionate about the transformative nature of outdoor education: I think being outside has the power to teach us more about ourselves, our friends, and our communities. I was excited about Bold Earth’s commitment to creating lasting relationships beyond the summer, and wanted the opportunity to work with students outside of just California!

 

What is your Bold Earth superpower?

Laughter! I love to make time for play and silliness – whether it be random trail questions, riddles, skits, hiking karaoke, or finding those moments where everything becomes funny.

 

What is your adventure must-have?

My camping chair and my current knitting project! You can find me crafting at any pretty view.
