I grew up hiking in the White Mountains of New Hampshire at summer camp. There, I grew my deep love for the magic that is the outdoors. At age 18, I took a gap year and spent three months traveling through Peru and Ecuador, living with families, hiking, and learning Spanish. Since then, I have backpacked through Portugal, Spain, France, and Scotland. I have a worked as a hiking guide in the White Mountains, and am currently working at a nonprofit as a trekking guide in Guatemala. I love singing, dancing, playing guitar and being a leader for young people.

What drew you to the Bold Earth community?

I think it is incredibly important for teens to have a role model they can look up to, especially as their lives are constantly changing. When I was 15, I thought the outdoor educator’s guiding me and other teens on backpacking trips in New Hampshire were inspiring, and at the time I never thought that one day I could be that person. These guides gave me the empowerment to reach my fullest potential, and now I want to do the same for teens that I will get to work with at Bold Earth!

 

What is your Bold Earth superpower?

I bring humor into everything! I love to perform and while trekking, singing any full soundtrack is a must. When I’m with a group of people, we always create fun jokes and silly games, which I think brings magic to every community I’ve been able to be a part of.

 

What is your adventure must-have?

My journal and my sketchbook! I am constantly inspired by things I see around me while I’m exploring, trekking, or passing through communities, and I love jotting down ideas or making a quick drawing of things I’m thinking and seeing.
