It is a daunting experience at first to send your child off to be with two young adult leaders (you never meet) and a small group of unknown peers for several weeks. [My son] was very nervous, but all these feelings diminish quickly after a safe landing and getting to know the group. The worry turns into a joyful, personality growing series of adventures, which they can't stop telling you about.

Bold Earth gives kids a chance to step out of the normal churn of day-to-day life with school, sports, hobbies and try something totally new. They get to make new friends from across the US and the world, try out new activities, build confidence and just spend some time being a teen!

Disconnecting from her phone (digital detox) allowed [my daughter] to strengthen connections with others and fully immerse in the physical environment. The daily activities stimulated [her] and hopefully will inspire her to continue seeking challenging outdoor adventures.

Cannot thank Bold Earth enough for the amazing experience they provided for my daughter. Bold Earth provided a safe and enjoyable environment and itinerary focused on many outdoor pursuits that helped her build confidence and independence along the way. My daughter came back from the trip with tales of challenging hikes, rock climbing adventures, exciting white water rafting trip, and daring Via Ferrata excursions. She was a new person who thrived on the new experiences when she was pushed out of her comfort zone and she had grown in confidence during her time with Bold Earth.

What experience level do I need?
None! Most of our students have never done activities like rock climbing, whitewater rafting, or international travel. Our programs are designed for beginners with expert instruction and support.
How do you ensure safety?
All trip leaders are Wilderness First Responder and CPR certified, with professional backgrounds in youth leadership. We’re members of Cornerstone Safety Group for additional support and have 45+ years of experience in youth adventure travel.
What if I don't make friends?
Almost everyone comes alone and feels nervous at first, that’s exactly what makes the friendships so strong! Our small group sizes and shared adventures create natural opportunities for deep connections.
